Afro-Caribbean Music Ambassador | Crossover Singer | Songwriter | Performer

I’m Eddy Kbrera, a Colombian artist of Dominican descent, currently based in Charlotte, North Carolina. My musical journey is rooted in a powerful blend of African Soukous and the vibrant rhythms of the Colombian Caribbean, especially Champeta. This unique fusion is what I call Afro-Caribbean Music—a crossover style that’s full of life, movement, and cultural energy.

I was born in Barranquilla, a city known for producing international music legends, and I carry that same spirit in everything I do. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of performing at some of the most important concerts and festivals across the United States, always representing the joy, strength, and richness of my heritage.

Now fully established in the Queen City, Charlotte, I continue to grow and evolve as an artist, delivering explosive live shows, heartfelt songwriting, and a musical experience that connects people across cultures and generations.

My next goal is to release 10 singles and four music videos over the next 12 months, leading up to a new album titled “Pa’ Mi Tierrita”, a fresh fusion of Soukous and Carranga Tropical. I’m working on it with all my heart and energy!

My sound is deeply influenced by Soukous—a modern rhythm from Congo that dates back to the 1930s and 40s. Over time, I’ve embraced styles like Ndombolo (also called Sevene), which blends Congolese rumba with high-tempo African dance beats. I fuse these African rhythms with the powerful and colorful bass lines of Champeta from my native Colombia, creating a musical experience that’s both fresh and rooted in tradition.

Whether I sing in Spanish, English, or Lingala, I aim to bring people together through music. My performances are full of energy, movement, and soul—because that’s what Afro-Caribbean music is all about.
